Man United v Cluj...Cluj?...7:45 kick off 2nd october

There's is an uncertainty that is spreading around the red side of Manchester,like a virus,it is slowly eating the confidence of players and being transferred to the performances on the pitch.From the pitch,that particular virus has now spread to the fans and just fills their hearts and minds as they have no clue what to expect from the United team on a champions league day.On Day 1,United got the win when Kagawa put Michael Carrick through,he went round the goalkeeper and scored the only goal of the match in the 7th minute.But it was far from convincing as Galatasaray had total control of the game,pulled up a few saves from David de Gea and had an early penalty ruled out.It was clear that United haven't shaken off the troubles of last seasons champions league.Now there is a bigger fear,the fear of the Unknown,the unknown being CFR Cluj Napoca.
CFR Cluj is a Romanian club and are currently the Liga 1 champions.They spent most of their existence in the lower divisions of Romanian football until they received significant financial backing from Árpád Pászkány in 2002. CFR Cluj returned to the top flight in 2004 and the following season took in their first UEFA competition, the Intertoto Cup, finishing as runners-up. In 2007-08, CFR Cluj were champions of Liga 1 for the first time in their history, taking the title away from teams from the city of Bucharest for the first time in 17 years, qualifying for the champions league group stages in the process, six years after having been in the third tier of Romanian league football.

This is their 3rd appearance in the champions league and it will please united fans to know that they have won on the opening day of all 3 champions league appearances but have failed to win any other match in all campaigns.

On day 1 of the champions league they were totally out played by Braga.Braga had 71% possession of the ball and had 38 shots on goal but quick counter attack football gave them the win with 2 goals from a former Braga player Rafael Bastos in the 19th and 34th minute.However CFR Cluj will be happy to know that United have just won 2 of their last 7 matches in Europe ..United did play in Romania last season against Otel Galati and were their last wins in the Champions league as United won home and away but as i said CFR Cluj is definitely unknown.And they have the advantage of playing at home.a ground United is not familiar with.

It will be a tough game for United as they have traveled without Giggs,Scholes,Valencia and Michael Carrick.Wayne Rooney and Robin Van persie will probably start but there is still the question of if the midfield will be strong enough to give United a win.The question,"does Fergie know what he is doing has started creeping into the United faithful as i have said time and again...he squad selection has been unsettling this season but i have and idea for the united fans.....a prayer....say it with me and hope Sir Fergie says it too...

God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change,the courage to change the things i can and the wisdom to know the difference.Amen.
