Van Persie double..
And the Beginning of the Fat man and Robin..
I will like to apologise first and foremost to everyone for failing to mention that the home of CFR Cluj is in the wonderful town of Transylvania (love that name).Isn't that where Dracula is from?(Not sure).
And it would be unfair at this point to continue to ask who CFR Cluj are, so just a quick reminder, Romanian champions,4th champions league campaign...have won all their opening matches of all champions league campaigns and either drawn or lost the others. And like every other supposedly unknown (now known) teams, they play to their strengths.
Cluj knew man for man they did not possess Uniteds quality but were more than happy to play on the break and scored with their first attack in the 13th minute.Modou Sougou cross eluded Johnny Evans and Kapetanous swept home past David De Gea to give them the lead. United were in control of the game and the production of the fat man and robin came to all televisions near you (if u were watching the match).Van Persie equalised in the 28th minute from a Wayne Rooney (the fat man) free kick. The Dutch man was lucky as the ball came off his shoulder rather than his head before looping over the Cluj goalkeeper. It was level at half time.
The brilliance of a creative player is measured from his ability to pick out a pass from nothing and in return, the quality of that pass is shown from the anticipation of the other player in order to receive this pass. All this was shown when Rooneys floated pass picked out the run of Van Persie and he flicked the ball past the outrushing goal keeper to make it 2-1 to united.
United continued to control the game but Cluj kept on going and were denied by De Gea when he tipped over Cadu's header and the Spaniard produced a wonderful save in stoppage time to deny Sasa Bjelanovic as united held on.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side were made to work hard for victory. And defensive questions can still be asked about the current United team. Back to the league now,and a trip to St James Park....tricky tricky tricky.
I have one question or maybe 2.Who and what is Tom Cleverley?(To be continued)
In more words to come(even about my question)..Sabi Boi
