Barca Wins in Portugal.

First of all I have to apologize for not coming up with a preview before the Benfica vs Barcelona match. It was due to some mitigating circumstances which has been resolved and with champions league around everything seems to have brighten including my face as I celebrated watching my team secure their third away win of the season thanks to a Van Persie double plus Rooney's Scholes-like artistry... Anyway that's it for the united game, my attention was also on the benfica  game where they haven't won against Barca in 30years

This was meant to be the hardest match for Barca in their group but they strolled to victory though not backed by the goals their performance deserved. Benfica came into the match without their tailsman Oscar Cardozo and had to face a barcelona with their own tailsman Messi ready to rumble.

An early goal from Alexis Sanchez, set up by Leo Messi got the ball rolling for the Spanish side, and they were always in control from that point. Messi as usual putting in a dazzling performance as he and his team-mates warmed up for the el clasico. Benfica started the game brightly but immediately the Men from Spain scored it became a one way traffic and they missed a lot of chances with Benfica trying their best to impose themselves on the game but to no avail.

The second half eventually proved more incident-filled, with Cesc Fabregas scoring the second goal  after a dazzing run by Leo Messi, but  late on in the game, Sergio Busquets was sent off and Carlos Puyol suffered a very nasty injury which I hope is not as serious as it looks.

Anyway, It was a fine result, which puts Barça in a very strong position to qualify from the group and for benfica, they must win their remaining homes games to have a chance of qualifying......bring on Madrid says Barca fans....next up for Barca is the el clasico on the 7th of Oct.....don't miss.
